Monash University Flute Ensemble Receives Travel Grant

The Monash University Flute Ensemble has been awarded a travel grant from the 'Creative Young Stars" program, sponsored by the Australian Government. This exciting program supports and celebrates creative, cultural, academic and community achievements throughout Australia. The grant application was prepared and submitted by Monash flute/ arts student Kate Aldred. This most important funding will allow several students to travel to Canberra in October 2013, to perform and study at the International Australian Flute Festival. The ensemble will be preparing an exciting program that will feature all Australian compositions, by living composers. Their performance on Monday October 7th at 12:00 noon will be followed by a CD signing of their recent recording, "Fantasie Australis," (MOVE Records). It certainly is a very exciting time for the ensemble and all involved. Congratulations to a well deserved award.  Bravo!
